Using the VT Grade Import Tool in Blackboard

The VT Test Scoring Services (TSS) Import Tool is designed to accept only TSS file types:
TSS (Test Scoring Services) - A text file sent to you by Test Scoring Services
prt/pun - Printer Output File, usually from TSS generated output
txt - A simple text file with comma separated entries
Note: TSS files must remain unedited in order to work correctly with the import tool.

Please follow the instructions below to use the VT TSS import tool:

Part 1 - Choosing the correct file format to import
1. Go to the Control Panel of your course
2. Click on VT Test Scoring Services (TSS) Import Tool in the Course Tools section
3. Click on the Browse button in Section 2: Upload TSS File
4. Select the desired TSS file from your computer by double clicking it or opening it
5. Click on the Submit button in Section 3: Upload File

Part 2 - Verifying the Content to be Uploaded
1. Verify the Content in Section 3: Verify Imported Content
Note: Some things to look out for include: missing lines, incorrect scores, and/or uneven columns
2. Click on the Submit button in Section 4: Submit

Part 3 - Selecting Items to Import
1. Uncheck any items you do not want to Import in Section 2: Select Items to Import
Note: That grade items matching quizzes or surveys created within Blackboard can not be imported
2. Choose whether you would like to Overwrite any existing grades or Insert new ones only in Section 3: Overwrite or Insert Scores
3. Click on the Submit button in Section 4: Submit
4. Click OK to return to the Import Tool
5. Click Cancel to go to the Spreadsheet View
