WHAT ARE ELECTRONIC GROUPS
Electronic groups are online work areas for student teams to collaborate on some shared task. The group areas are typically private so that only members of the assigned team can access the work area. The group work area in CourseInfo resembles the following graphic (click thumbnail for an enlarged view):

In the CourseInfo electronic group area, each team member is displayed with a quick e-mail link. Group features are then provided: private discussion boards and chat rooms to communicate with team members about a project, and file exchange boxes to share working documents.
