About Us

Educational Technologies is a university support center within Information Systems, providing services in faculty development, instructional software ("courseware") design and production, assessment, consulting, training, and R&D in emerging technologies. The department has planning and implementation responsibility for major projects within the university including the Instructional Development Initiative, the Faculty Development Institute, and the Course Transformation Project. All these activities provide a catalyst for the vision of the ACITC facility and support the restructuring of the university's academic mission.

Educational Technologies works with a large number of faculty groups from all colleges to design and conduct the Faculty Development Institute workshops. In direct support of the Instructional Development Initiative and the Course Transformation Project, Educational Technologies provides consulting and training support to faculty and staff on a variety of software tools such as Blackboard, WebCT, Authorware, and streaming media, all used to produce Internet/World Wide Web projects as well as interactive multimedia and CD-ROM. Its professional staff provides consulting and development services on course redesign, courseware development, assessment and research, support and evaluate emerging information technologies.
